FAQs
Whats is BReathwork?
Breathwork has been practiced for thousands of years. There are different types/styles of breathwork practices and they all involve the control of your inhalation and exhalation. By the use of the diaphragm they differ by changing the depth, speed and how often you breathe in and out of the mouth or nose. Different examples and styles are box breathing, holotropic breathwork, wimhoff, co-herent breathing. I teach the transformational breath technique.
hOw does breathwork BENEFIT you?
Breathwork is a great way to regulate your nervous system into this natural state of being, bringing about mental clarity, releasing stress in the body and to increasing your creative nature of expression. Breathwork can also help with a variety of medical concerns such as chronic pain, depression, anxiety, anger management issues, grief, trauma, PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder), emotional effects of physical illness. (I make no claim to benefit any specific condition and give no guarantee as to outcome).
what happens in a Workshop & 1:1 In-person session?
Share as little or as much as you like about any emotional block, habits or goals. We will dive in to the explanation of the technique, what to expect, and put it all in to practice in the breath session. A breath session last for 1 hour in total. 45 min breath 15 min integration/ transformative relaxation period. And 30mins expression/ explanation time. I encourage a container of free expression to allow space for all experiences to unfold safely and naturally.
how many Sessions to book in for?
5 sessions will ensure that the technique has been implemented and you have an understanding of how to journey through the breathwork session. I would book 3 sessions at a minimum to dive deep enough on a physical level and a mental emotional level. I only recommend 1 session if it is a gift of an experience that you seek. The more sessions you commit to the more you will get out of the breathwork experience.
WHat do I bring to a session?
Bring yourself in comfortable loose clothing (avoid tightness around the belly area), water and a journal to write down any thing that comes to mind before or after the session. This work is great for realisations of next steps to take in life, writing what has come up for you in a session gives you a greater possibility of mental clarity and can bring intention/ movement into clear sight.
